Cabin

So Zach's family decided that we need a little family get together. Jordan's (brother-in-law) family has a cabin up in Pine Valley. They decided that it would be fun to go up to the cabin for the weekend. So Mom, Dad, Amber. Tyler, Kru, Kreed, Zach, Me, Bear, Courtney, Jordan, Chelzee, Aunt Betty, and Grandpa Nye came to the cabin. The first night we had a weenie roast and s'mores. they were way good. We went on a walk that night. We were all so excited that Grandpa Nye came because he is 96 and he doesn't like to travel a lot. But he came. the next day we went fishing. Kru and I were the only ones who caught a fish. We ate them for lunch that day. They where yummy. Kru ate his whole fish by himself. It rained like all weekend but it was super nice up there. We were on the deck in the back yard while it was raining because it was so nice. That night Jordan's family wanted to make us dinner at "The Cove". It is their land that they own like 40 acres. they have gated off a little area that has grass, picnic tables, running water, bathrooms, and a BBQ. The food was amazing! We had dutch oven potatoes, dutch oven chicken which was so so good! and salad with homemade ranch dressing. YUMMY! So Good! then we all played volleyball. The teams where: Zach, Me, Amber and Tyler. Then Courtney, Jordan, Chelzee, and Jordan's little brother. It was intense and very fun. The whole weekend was a good little family reunion.

4th Of July

For the 4th of July we always go up to my mom's house because she lives up on the black hill, where the "D" lights up at nights. We sit on her balcony. We can see the fireworks perfectly. We had a big ole party up there this year, mom and pop's friends, mine and Zach's firends, and Mel, Maddi, and some of her friends. it was way fun. Fireworks went on for awhile this year great fun.

Pine Valley Camping

Zach had Monday off because it was the 4th of July. LONG WEEKEND YEA!!! So we decided to go camping. We LOVE camping. We had heard about Enterprise res. So we went to go check it out. We drove ALL the way out to Enterprise (which is like 1 1/2 away) and drove around the lake. It was horrible! it was desert all around, NO grass, Not really any trees, NO green! I hated it! We made an executive decision to go somewhere else and try and find a better campsite. It was risky because we could get somewhere and they would be full. But there was NO way that i was camping at Enterprise lake for 2 nights. So we left and went to Pine Valley. I was praying the whole time that there would be a campsite for us. We knew everywhere else around would be full, so if we didn't get a site at Pine Valley we would have to go home. We pulled up to the person at the opening of the park area and........ they had ONLY 2 campsites available. WOW! that was a close shot. We were so relieved. The camp sites there at Pine Valley are brand new. They are so NICE! We just relaxed for the 2 1/2 days. It was super nice! I caught a fish! Zach did not. (ha ha ha) Bear had a fun time. He LOVEs camping. he knows when we are packing up to go. He just LOVEs being outside. Camping is so much fun!

Lions, Tigers, & Bears, Oh My!

Monday July 11, 2011

My brother Paul is on his mission in Guatemala. He comes home in December.

Today on P-day Paul went to the zoo down in Guatemala with the other missionaries. He decided to have his picture taken in front of the lions cage, so he climbed a tall concrete wall and stood on top of it. The lions cage was behind him. The wall he had to climb from his side was much higher than the wall was from where the lions lived. The lions level was only two feet down on their side, so as he turned his back to the lions cage to have his picture taken the lions crept up behind him. One lion reached through the cage bars and grabbed his right leg causing him to fall back against the cage at which time the other lion grabbed his left upper arm. His companion Elder Lopez, who is from Mexico, scaled the wall and shoved a big, white pole into the lion's mouth and was able to pry the lion's mouth from Paul's left arm. Paul continued to punch the other lion's head and gouge it's eyes with his free hand. The zookeepers arrived on the scene with guns and Paul yelled, "shoot the lion", but instead they fired shots in the air. The sister missionaries were down on the lower level watching and began to pray. As soon as they said "Amen" Paul was released. (Sometimes the shorter prayer is the more prudent prayer.) As he rolled off of the wall his shoe fell off and he said to his zone leader, "get me down, I'm tired". Using his good arm to hang and then fall to the ground he rolled off the wall and was received by his zone leader, Elder Anderson, at the bottom of the wall. Elder Anderson was covered with so much blood afterward that he appeared to be more injured than Paul. Paul lost five pints of blood during this ordeal. When he hit the ground he yelled to the other elders to take some pictures. It took Paul a full two minutes to free himself from the two lions. which he was able to do, but not until after receiving some very severe injuries.

Picnic

So we loved Gunlock res. so much that we wanted to go on a little Picnic with Zach's family. We brought Hotdogs, Corn on the cob and had a good old time. We were babysitting Kru and Kreed. Courtney and her husband Jordan came, and Chlezee came too. it was so much fun.

Gunlock Res.

Zach's day off, he wanted to go to Gunlock Res.. We invited HIs sister Amber, & her 2 sons. (Kru & Kreed) Our super cute nephews. We just went on a hike, took pics and enjoyed the water. It did start to sprinkle, so we all took cover under a rock that hung over the pathway a little. just sat there and enjoyed the weather and the light rain. when it stopped we hiked down to the car and left. Fun day off.

Landon Oakey

My Stepsister Cydney Marie did a dance performance at Disneyland. My Stepmom, Stepsister & Stepbrother went to disney land for a week. My dad had to work. I got to watch Landon (my 1/2 brother) for a week. we had so much fun. we went to a block/ward party. it was a luau. they had a fire truck there, hula dancers, good food & slushies! Yummy! it was so much fun. We went to the park and had a picnic, we went to the dog park, we went to a Mountain Men Rendezvous. At the Mountain Men Rendezvous Land bought a wooden tomahawk (he called it and axe) and a wooden gun. He loved them. We went and did a lot of fun stuff. It was his birthday while he was here with us and we celebrated by going camping. He was super excited! he had never been camping before, so we were so excited to take him on his first camp out. He opened his presents on the way to go camping. Well the food was good, and we were warm and sung in our sleeping bags. But, IT WAS SUPER WINDY! Landon was so tired that the wind didnt bother him at all. he was out like a light. But, Zach and I could NOT sleep. The wind was rattling the tent so much, so loud, and so annoying! NO SLEEP! So we made an executive decision to get up, put everything away, and go home. It barley even phased Landon. he was so out of it. Anyways, other than that we had an awesome time with Landon. He was so fun, funny, entertaining, sweet, and just a good boy. We love him!

ER Experience

Me, Zach, Maddi (niece) Angela and Randy (friends) went to Grafton. Its a little ghost town by Zion. It was beautiful. we took a couple pics. We went to eat in Springdale, the cute little town right outside of Zion. when we sat down to eat i started seeing spots.....
Before i say anything else I am fine! So I went to the ER the other day, I had a massive killer migraine! YUCK, it started with spotted blindness, then a throbbing headache, then nausea, then numbness to my arm, lips, & tongue, then the whole left side of my body. Then I took a nap hoping it would go away, but.... it didn't. Zach took me upstairs and got me in a warm bath with the light off. (that was supposed to help) It didn't... So he took me to bed and gave me a blessing. My headache lifted for a little while, but my throbbing headache came right back. At this point I had been "sick" for like 5 hours. I called my Mom. She came over with all her essential oils. Again helped for a little while but came back. I threw up 4 times. Then we called Tyson (my stepmom), my dad had to wake her up because she worked 2am-2pm. (12 hour shifts, she is and RN for premature babies) She told me to go to the ER. so Zach took me to the ER. My body seemed like it weighted a million lbs. We got there and they put an IV in my arm and gave me like 4 drugs in my arm. I had to pee in a cup, to see if i was pregnant (I am not). Because they wanted a cat scan of my head. (nothing was wrong). Come to find out my migraine was caused be a sinus infection. What is funny is that i don't remember a lot of what happened at the hospital. I don't remember coming home or nothing. Zach told me that when he was taking me home I told him: "I wanna go home, go pee, get a drink, then go to bed." (don't remember saying any of this). Then when we got home and he was taking me up the stairs, I said: "I wanna watch Princess and the Frog". Ha ha i got through like 5 min or so, Zach said. When we got home it was about 1am. I woke up around 1pm. So 12-13 hours later. So that was my little adventure. Scary, but all that matters is that i am ok now.
